...to sell him to other men
Accomplished project manager and IT outsourcing / offshoring specialist seeks to utilize international experience in corporate development, program- and project management for a global company.
I am passionate, creative and motivated for new challenges after nearly 10 years within IT in Scandinavia and China:
I spent nearly 7 years in a Scandinavian IT startup - pre and post the dot.com era - combining project management, sales, marketing and strategy. I then realized I wanted to put my skills earned through my Bachelor's degree (International Marketing, thesis on market oriented product development) up for a test.
I traveled to China late 2005, and joined a startup focusing on IT-offshoring from China to "the West". We were then only 10-12 people, so as a member of the management team I had to be flexible, taking on challenges as we grew: I started out responding to RFPs, then project management and team management for a major Scandinavian ecommerce player.
The company grew in size (25 ppl after a year, 200+ now, after 2.5 years), and I started taking on core management tasks in addition to project management (see info in my CV - find links below). So, the last year in China has been spent titled as Project Director, with a special responsibility on building and developing the fast growing group of project managers.
Working in China has given me valuable experience not only within the "hard skills" of management and project management, but also - importantly - how to listen and adjust when you are working in an international environment, where obstacles in language and cultural understanding has to be sorted out.
As I now am planning to leave Asia after my 2.5 years in Beijing, am I looking for new opportunities with a company where I can be based somewhat closer to home in Europe, and at the same time continue working in an international environment.
I believe my experience in how to grow teams and businesses would complement management teams in most international / global companies - so if you feel you have an interesting position to offer - and think that I would be good fit as a hard working, committed and determined new colleague - then we should talk!
